14th April 2017 — Scientists and spiritual teachers agree that the simple act of smiling can transform you and the world around you. It's undeniable that a smile is contagious. You must be able to think of many situations where you have smiled just because someone else does, whether its in your day to day life or someone on TV maybe.

So if you are smiling at someone, its likely they cant help but smile back. If they don't you know they are making a conscious effort not to! A smile can also make us more attractive to others. It lifts our mood as well as the moods of those around us and it can even lengthen our lives. So get practising that big smile on your face and make sure its in place every time you speak to someone in the future.

Each time you smile, a little feel good party gets going in your brain. The act of smiling activates neural messaging that benefits your health and happiness. The act of a smile releases so many things in our body it can not only relax it but also lower our heart rate and blood pressure which can only be a good thing if you suffer with nerves when talking to people about your products or business.

We are all better looking when we smile. When we smile people treat us differently. We are viewed as more attractive, reliable, relaxed and sincere. Each time you smile at a person, their brain coaxes them to return the favour. You will be creating a symbiotic relationship that allows both of you to release feel good chemicals in your brain and it activates reward centres.

We cant always control what happens to us, but I am 100% confident that gracing our face with a big smile can seriously change our internal and external experiences. Your smile is something that should be worn often, so make it a priority to surround yourself with people, places and things that brighten your day. Be the positive, happy person in your group of friends. If you are going to watch anything on TV make it a funny film. Steer well clear of all the negative stuff and trash programmes. Look people in the eye when you talk to them and show them your pearly whites. Nothing you take to your next meeting is more important than your smile!!

"Your smile will give you a positive countenance that will make people feel comfortable around you" — Les Brown
